Worth seeing

During your Tuscany vacation, be sure to visit one or more of the iconic cities of Florence, Siena, Lucca or Arezzo - depending on where your villa is located. In northern Tuscany, Florence and Lucca are must-sees. Florence is the capital of Tuscany. Plan an extensive tour in the old town with the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Uffizi, Michelangelo's David and Il Duomo, the symbol of Florence. In Florence you can see the masterpieces of Boticelli, Raphael, da Vinci and many others. On request, our concierge service can organize private visits to patrician houses with unique art collections.

Lucca is picturesquely located between the Versilia coast and the mountains. The pulsating old town offers a variety of sights, atmospheric restaurants and boutiques. Admire the completely preserved city walls. Nearby you can visit Pisa with the Leaning Tower in the Piazza dei Miracoli. The old town of Siena was built on three hills and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. According to legend, it was founded by Sienus – the son of Remus. If the program planning allows, be sure to visit San Gimignano. The City of Towers is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Impressive buildings and works of art preserve the historical past. According to stories, Dante Alighieri and other artists stayed here.

Climate and best travel period

Tuscany has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild, wet winters. The geographical location makes it a perfect destination - north enough to travel by car, but south enough to enjoy pleasant temperatures 8-9 months of the year. In summer you are almost guaranteed good weather and the coldest month is January. Between March and November, depending on the weather, Tuscany offers a wide range of program options and activities. If your villa has a heated swimming pool, you will be able to enjoy the ever-changing nature with infinity views of the iconic landscape as early as spring or late autumn.

Essen & Trinken

Tuscan cuisine is diverse, like the region itself. The beef, game and pasta specialties from the country and fish dishes from the coastal region are harmonious and down-to-earth, with fewer ingredients but of the best quality. A Bistecca alla Fiorentina made from fine Chianina beef or pappardelle pasta with ragu accompanied by a suitable wine is worth the trip. Vegetarians will also like Tuscan cuisine. A variety of stews, bean and vegetable dishes - such as ribollita - are local specialties. The Panforte and Panpepato – the famous almond cake from Siena are worth a sweet temptation. If you are spending your vacation in a villa in Tuscany, we recommend booking a private chef for one or more meals, who will present Tuscan cuisine tailored to your palate.

You can enjoy excellent wines from the Tuscan wine regions with your delicious meals. Visit the famous traditional wineries in Chianti Classico, Montepulciano, San Gimignano or Scansano. Connoisseurs and wine enthusiasts like to try the modern varieties of Super Tuscan wines, which are not produced according to the traditional DOC regulations and are more in line with international trends.

Arrival
Reach your luxury villa in Tuscany easily with scheduled flights to Florence or Pisa. You can also land at smaller airports with a private jet. The driver service will be waiting for you at the airport and will take you directly to your villa. Our concierge service is available to organize everything at any time.

If you want to drive through the iconic landscape yourself and travel with your own car, Tuscany is also a perfect travel destination. Northern Tuscany is certainly more comfortable by car, but with an overnight stay you can also easily reach southern Tuscany - Val d'Orcia with the lunar landscape of the Crete Senesi or the Maremma coast with the picturesque Monte Argentario.
