Nestled in the enchanting Tuscan countryside, a historic jewel awaits you – an expansive 10-bedroom villa that is the epitome of luxury and timeless elegance. This opulent property is located in Il Borro, a medieval village 60 kilometres south of Florence. Villa Storia offers not only a retreat, but also an immersive experience steeped in history, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the region.
Lovingly transformed by the Ferragamo family into a luxurious Tuscan retreat, the fabulous Il Borro is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux collection. Set in the heart of Tuscany, it is part of a 700-acre estate surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Wine and olive oil are produced here using traditional methods and are an integral part of the region's landscape. You know you have arrived in your Tuscan dream from the moment you drive through the gates onto the majestic driveway surrounded by rolling greenery and horse stables. The small village of Il Borro is an experience in itself. Wander the narrow streets, chat with local artisans, relax with treatments at the Il Borro Spa or enjoy traditional Tuscan cuisine at the Osteria del Borro. Sweeten your days with exciting activities such as cooking classes, truffle hunting, mountain biking, horse riding, a Ferrari tour or a hot air balloon ride.
Villa Storia, with its private garden, is situated in the heart of the village. The large, elegant villa dominates the entire medieval village. Built in 1845 by the Hohenlohe Waldenburgs, it was sold to Duke Amadeo d'Aosta at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1993, Ferruccio Ferragamo bought the estate and carefully restored it. The extensive restoration has restored the property to its former glory, highlighting the original materials and architectural style.
There are 10 luxurious bedrooms and a variety of features to ensure a high level of relaxation and enjoyment. Guests have access to a magnificent outdoor pool under shady trees, a spa with heated indoor pool, sauna and gym, billiards room, study and even a conference room. The villa's resident staff are on hand at all times to ensure an exclusive and personalised service.

The historic hamlet of Il Borro is a world in itself, covering 1100 hectares of organic land in the heart of the Upper Valdrano, a vast natural basin on the edge of the Apennines, 20 kilometres from Arezzo.
A stay at Il Borro means total immersion in Tuscany. The Osteria del Borro - the gourmet restaurant with local specialities – and the Tuscan Bistro with simple traditional dishes will spoil you with culinary delights. The BorroBar offers unforgettable sundowners and creative cocktails by the estate's large pool. The Vincafe is the best place to enjoy a drink or coffee while admiring the surrounding nature.
The wine cellar and restaurant offers a wide selection of wines from smaller wineries, which emphasise the Tuscan character of the wine, as well as renowned and prestigious labels. The organic wines of Il Borro are particularly noteworthy, with a focus on local vines such as the various Sangiovese varieties, but also on international vines that best reflect the terroir.
Il Borro offers a wide range of activities during your stay. Explore the gastronomy and try a cooking or cocktail course. Plan a wine tour at the hotel's own winery and combine it with a tasting or even a wine and cheese experience.
Tradition and innovation come together in the olive grove and organic farm, where the theory of 'from farm to fork' is put into practice.
In the Wine and Art Gallery you can follow the unique evolution of the estate and see some extraordinary works of art, including works by Marc Chagall, Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso.
In the Il Borro shop you can buy exclusive handmade jewellery, leather goods, shoes, clothing and art. Step back in time and learn ancient techniques from local artisans.
Explore the estate and its iconic surroundings on horseback. Take riding lessons according to your level or simply ride out with a guide.
The property also offers other sporting activities. Two tennis courts, golf course, walking and cycling trails, quad bikes and a football pitch provide a variety of options for all ages and interests.
The surrounding area also offers exciting excursions – city tours to Florence or Arezzo, Chianti Classico tours or truffle hunting await you!
