The small village of Carate Urio lies on the picturesque western shore of Lake Como, between Laglio and Moltrasino, with its own ferry port. Villa Cristoforis was built on the ruins of a 300 year old farmhouse just 50 metres from the lake. Years of restoration have transformed the rustic building into a stylish retreat. Combining the charm of the past with modern comforts, Villa Cristoforis offers a unique character and a wonderful place to live.
There is space to relax and enjoy in two fantastically landscaped garden areas which are illuminated in the evening. The front garden backs on to the lake with uninterrupted views. For alfresco dining with family and friends there is a large heated pool surrounded by sun loungers and an outdoor dining area with summer kitchen.
With a lounge and direct access to three bedrooms and the conservatory/prosecco bar, the rear mountain garden is a true oasis.
The interiors are characterised by ancient stone walls and arches, which provide a stylish backdrop to the modern, minimalist furnishings. All furnishings, textiles and decorations have been carefully selected from Morsø, Flos, Vipp, Høie beds and Decoflame.
